Monica Richards--Experienced graphic designer, specializing in web design, CD covers, magazine layout, logo creation. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Monica Richards is an internationally known creative artist; her distinctive work has graced CD covers, commercial ads and brochures, websites and gallery walls. Her talents run the entire spectrum of the visual arts, from Graphic Design, Imaging and Web Design, Pen & Ink, Colored Pencil, Sculpture and traditional Fine Art paintings; she is best known for her larger-than-life expressive mythical symbolism, and her intense use of color and contrast.
Currently, she is working on a series of self-portraits set in world-wide inherent matriarchal themes: creations of Kali, the Lorelei, and Artemis are to be included. Her individual styles, be they Folk Art, whimsical illustration, pen & ink, traditional paintings, or graphic collage, are always available for showings, either separately or combined as a whole.
As a free-lance artist, Monica Richards got her start in Washington DC in the early 1980's music and business circles, and designed for a myriad of entities: such as Juju's (Experience Unlimited/Arrested Development) maxi-single cover illustration as well as house drawings in some of the Washington DC Historical Society Tourbooks.
Gaining a thorough knowledge of computer graphics, she has been the Art Director of Independent record labels: Tess, Bedazzled, and Neue Asthetik Multimedia, as well as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator, using her original artwork to enhance her expertise in computer imaging. Well-known in the Underground music scenes, she has designed numerous CD covers for other artists, and is always available for Freelance and Commission work.
Widely known for her musical work in Faith and the Muse, Monica is also a published writer and poet. Her own poetry and fine art site can be found at The Studio.
